Pre-Wedding Photography (PWP)

Postby mshirl on Wed Jun 20, 2007 2:20 am

Knowing that the photo albums will just end up on top of the cupboard or under the bed, I have set aside only a small budget for my PWP. My married friends are telling me that they regret spending so much for their PWP. And now their albums are just collecting dust.

Personally I was not keen on posing for the camera, and neither was my FH. For me it was just another nice-to-have on my checklist. But before I know it, I signed up for a package which is almost double my pre-allocated budget (thanks to my mom and my brother who persuaded me to do it). Frankly, I have no regrets, especially after viewing the results.

We spent almost 10 hours for both indoor and outdoor shooting (FRIM & KLCC), and the photographers made it an unforgettable experience. The whole session was really fun, and I did not even feel a teenie weenie bit tired (at least not until I got home, took my shower and then I was falling apart). We brought our own props - that gave our photos a personal touch :) We ran, hopped, rolled and even kicked..... and the photographer captured all these moments without fail. And the results? Photos showing how much we enjoyed ourselves, with natural laughters and smiles.

Moral of the story? I am not hinting that you'll get good photos by paying more. Most importantly in any photo session is to be yourself. Let yourself loose, and not to be too bothered too much about the photographer. He is not there to make your life miserable. SMILE A LOT! If you are not the type that can pose naturally in the studio, spend more time outdoors! Think of an activity that both of you enjoy doing together, or perhaps of something that reminds you of the sweet courting process ;) Be creative. Anything is possible.

I enjoyed myself a lot, I hope you will too! :D

I don't like my pre wedding photos  I always thought I will treasure my pre wedding photos, it has been my must have since even before I start dating. What should I do? Do you think I should take again. I think the bridal house I went is not good, verything seems really nice at first but I look horrible. I spend alot, 5k with one of the weell known ones but really dissapointed.

What do you think I should do? my wedding is 4 months from now.

Did you speak to the bridal house about your disatisfaction? I doubt they can do anything about it, though. Most of the bridal houses are quite $$$ minded unfortunately.

Where are you having your actual day ceremony? An alternative to spending more money on PWP is to take the photos on the actual day. Have you already engaged a photographer? Try talking to them about spending an additional hour or two with you for a photo session (if time permits) before the dinner reception, in an outdoor or garden setting. One disadvantage of course, you tend to be a little more tense on the actual day, worrying about too many stuff..... try to relax and smile more! Pictures look great with a happy smiling bride (always easier said than done, he he he)

Oh, and I hv seen this site that print your photos in a nice coffee table book, not too expensive, but I haven't personally tried their service yet.

GOOD LUCK!!!
