Joanne & Reuben

The Love Story
Honestly, we were kind of set-up by my buddies. When Joanne was at an audio workshop, my ‘buddies’ who were there check her out for me and decided that she was the kind of girl I like. The lady boss of that workshop introduced us via SMS. Soon, the first date was arranged. Initially the date was supposedly to be a group dinner but it turned out that only Joanne and I were the attendees. After that, the rest was history!

At what point did you realize you were in love?
There was no exact date or moment to define the feeling we have for one another as things just happened naturally. Everything just fell into place! Guess you can say that the moon and the stars aligned and fate brought us together as a loving couple.

How did you know that she/he is ‘The One’?
Joanne: There is no rocket science to this. You just know when the time comes and that you have found that special someone whom you will spend the rest of your life with!

Reuben: I guess it’s because she fits the best ideal girl picture in my mind. We share similar hobbies and interests with much aligned thinking and opinions. But of course we do sometimes agree to disagree on things we do not look at the same way. I spend most of my time away in Singapore as I work there and Joanne is able to accept it. She is someone who is open minded and understands the airline culture and lifestyle which is not something all spouses can understand.

The proposal
Initially, Reuben’s close friends and I planned a surprised birthday party for him. It was pretty hilarious when we look back as half of the surprise was actually leaked out due to my poor acting skills! But the party went on smoothly until the restaurant team came out with lovely candles when it was time to cut the birthday cake. Reuben had in fact, a plan of his own and went down on his knees after emerging from behind the team. Everyone thought he slipped and fell and went to give him a hand but backed off and said “Joanne, this is your deal”. From that moment, I knew Reuben was proposing to me on the very same event!

What have you learned from each other?
Joanne: We are two individuals from different backgrounds and up-bringing. Talking and discussing things out and then compromise is very important in a relationship.

What are your advice to couples who are about to marry?
Marriage is just the beginning of a life long journey with your loved one. We will be lying to you if we were to say that everything will always be rosy. It would not be a ‘Happily Ever After’ marriage if you do not embrace each other’s differences and learn a thing or two from one another. Sometimes, bumpy rides are good spices in life. The fundamental thing about marriage is to communicate and compromise with each other.

Charlene & Maz

The Love Story:
We got to know each other at a university in Perth through a mutual friend and were assigned to a group for an assignment. From that day on, we kept in touch and our path occasionally crossed. Our relationship gradually grew in the same direction and we are very happy to have found one another. We have been living together for about 5 years before that and we managed to “put up” with each other, making our relationship stronger than ever.

The Rings
Our rings are from Tiffany & Co.
Hers       : Elsa Peretti curved band with diamonds in platinum.
His          : Lucida platinum band with a single diamond.

Most enjoyable moment of the wedding
We enjoyed the entire day as we were treated as the King and Queen of the day! It made us feel really special. Our florist did the most fantastic job with the decor and we were really pleased with our photography session.

The most important element in a wedding
The friends and family that you share your wedding with and not forgetting to take pleasure of being together as husband and wife!

Advices to couples who are about to marry
Plan ahead, prepare early and make sure the bridal party knows exactly what to do for the wedding. Do not let planning interfere your relationship and let everyone else do the stressing for you!

The biggest challenge to overcome when planning a wedding
Couples living overseas have the biggest hurdle. A lot of coordination needs to be done via email. Apart from that, trying to keep the peace is probably the next challenge!

Bobbi’s Top 10 Wedding Makeup Tips

The Bridal Look 11.    Flash photography emphasizes pink tones, so be sure to even out skin with a yellow-toned foundation. Start around the nose and mouth where there’s redness, then blend out to the rest of the face.

2.    Set concealer and foundation with Sheer Finish Loose Powder to make them longer-lasting and to ensure that skin looks matte in pictures.

3.    If your dress has an open neckline, be sure to enhance your neck and chest with a dusting of Bronzing Powder.

4.    Use a water-resistant liner that can withstand tears; try Long-Wear Gel Eyeliner applied with the Ultra Fine Eye Liner Brush. If you prefer to line with shadow, make it longer-lasting by applying it with a slightly damp Eye Liner Brush. Finish with a water-resistant mascara like Lash Glamour.

5.    After applying all your eye makeup, finish with a highlighter shade on the browbone to assentuate your eyes. Rub your finger in a light matte shade and pat lightly on the outer corner of the browbone.

6.    For a pretty flush that lasts, use two shades of Blush. First, apply a neutral shade on the apples of cheeks, blending up into the hairline, then downwards to soften. Then apply a brighter shade just on the apples of cheks.

7.    Neutral and pale lip colors look washed out in photographs, so choose a lipstick that’s one to two shades brighter than what you normally wear. Pinks, roses and plums are great choices for brides.

8.    To make Lip Colour last longer, line and fill in lips with Lip Pencil before applying your lipstick.

9.    Carry a touch-up kit with concealer, pressed powder, lipstick or gloss, lip liner, tissues, mints, and a mini sewing kit (for emergency clothing fixed like a dropped hem or popped button.)

10.    Have fun! Pre-Wedding Wellness Tips Eat smart Choose whole grains, fresh greens and fruits, and clean proteins like chicken, fish, and beans. Hydrate Drink lots of water daily to hydrate skin and flush out toxins. Move Your Body Exercise at least three times a week to strengthen your body and calm your mind. Take Relaxing Baths Add soothing Epsom salts or skin-softening powdered milk to your bathwater. Be Present Slow down and appreciate what’s around you rather than rushing to get from start to finish. Wedding Day Touch-Up Tips Pack your purse with concealer, pressed powder, lipstick or gloss, lip liner, tissues, and mints. Sewing kit with prethreaded needless and a pair of tiny fold-up scissors to fix a hem or popped button. Static spray and lint remover to get rid of static cling and lint on clothing. Prewrapped wipes to remove makeup and food stains.

Love In Full Bloom

Love In Full Bloom
Inspired by our desire to celebrate a stylish garden wedding on this unique day 20.07.2007 @ Subang Jaya.

‘Love in Full Bloom’ a special breakfast wedding is proudly brought to you by Weddings @ eternal.com.my. In collaboration with Sheraton Subang Hotel and Towers as well as our premier wedding partners, 7 couples will tie the knot today as they embark on a new journey together as husband and wife.

This special occasion which is celebrated amidst a burst of myriad of colours of pink, green and silver will be held by the Hotel’s Poolside Garden, followed by the registration of their respective nuptials.

This civil ceremony garden wedding is organized in conjunction with our online contest which was announced on our website www.eternal.com.my recently. These 7 lucky couples who were handpicked as the winners of our ‘head over heels in love’ contest were selected based on their stories of their undying love for their soul mates.

Now why have we decided upon a breakfast wedding theme as opposed to lavish dinners and grand luncheons? The truth is, Malaysian couples have always dreamt of a romantic garden wedding but due to our humid weather and unpredictable climate, a garden wedding may not be the perfect theme when saying “I do”. Which is why we’ve chosen a breakfast wedding theme for not only is it a blessed moment to tie the knot amidst the rays of the sun but it is also considered to be pretty exotic.

An extra tip which is noteworthy: It is also cheaper to hold morning weddings as alcohol consumption during this time is next to zero.

So if you have never experienced a well- planned garden wedding set in a stylish backdrop here’s your chance to feast your eyes as we’ve put together the right music, colour and lavish food especially for this occasion.
